Delivery date in MTO scenario

Hi all,

i'm working in a MTO production scenario and we are implementing SAP, but for me is very difficult to get how SAP can propose a delivery date. When a new orders came in, the MRP check materials and so on, and then ? How SAP can check the machines workload ? When a new orders with early delivery date came in , what's happen ?

Hi Paolo

In this case, you should use ATO (assembly-to-order) instead of MTO. With ATO, system generates a production order for the finished product when creating a sales order and you can run a capacity availability check at this point, in order to check the machines capacity.
