SRM 7.0 - Display Back-End Messages as Errors does not work

In SRM 7.0 with a 4.7 Back-End and Extended Classic Scenario.

In configuration, under Global Control for Extended Classic Scenario there is a checkbox 'Display Back-End Messages as Errors'. When selected this perform a validation in R3 for the Shopping Cart and pro-actively return any errors that will happen when trying to replicate the PO from SRM to R3. I do not see this check happening, I am able to create shopping carts and the PO fails to replicate, no indication of the issue is given, except in the application monitor. Examples are WBS Element required for the GL account, vendor not extended to company code, etc.

Here is the Help from the IMG:

Back-End Messages Displayed as Errors

If the indicator is set, all messages output by the SAP ERP back-end after the consistency check are displayed in SAP SRM as error messages. These errors then need to be corrected before the purchase order is transmitted to the supplier.

If the indcator is not set, these messages are displayed as warning messages in SAP SRM. The purchase order is replicated to SAP ERP and transmitted to the supplier even if the problems are not corrected.

Seperate checkbox-----

Consistency Check Active in Back-End

If the indicator is set, a consistency check is carried out before the purchase order is replicated from SAP SRM to SAP ERP. The consistency check simulates the replication. Appropriate error or warning messages are output if problems are detected during the check.

If the indicator is not set, the purchase order is replicated from SAP SRM to SAP ERP. It is also transmitted to the supplier, even if problems occur during replication to SAP ERP.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi,

You should set both flag "Consistency Check" and "Display Error".

If it does not help please set a break point at FM B46B_DPO_TRANSFER and check if the BAPI returned any error message?

Hi, with both flags set we don't get any messages in the shopping cart, eventhough the PO will end up in 'Error in Process" b/c it can't post to R3. Have you seen this functionality work? The breakpoint didn't come up with anything, also we found that if you take the field/table from behind those checkboxes and do a 'where used' those checkboxes don't seem to be used in any programs?

Has anybody seen this functionality work? If so, is it possible that it doesn't work with R3 4.7? and does it definitely bring messages to the shopping cart, as oppossed to the PO? It would not make sense in the PO b/c the user would not see that, the messages need to be in the shopping cart to be effective.

Thanks,

Matt
