Hi to all...
There is some way to export data from SAP using openoffice calc instead MS Excell?
Hi Gianluca Calloni
Try this if possible, you get answer yourself
1.UnInstall the MS office
2.Install OpenOffice
3.Now click the button Export to excel
4.See weather data is export to Open Office or its throwing error
5.I have not tried this,if u interest try this and post the result here

Hi Thanga Raj K...
Sure i've the "Import option" in OpenOffice calc... And.. Yes.. i can import data from external source...
I also have a macro to open the text file generated from sap...
But i can click on the "excell" button (in SAP tool bar) only if MS Office is installed, or in my case, if user are permission to run MS excell... If not, the command button is disabled..
I need to be able to click on this button to launch OOFfice Calc....
It can be done!
We have OOo installed with xls files associated with it. Originally, clicking the Excel button used to start OpenOffice.org but the macro froze it.
OOo seems to have a bug with the Get command; the syntax is the same for OOo and VBA but OOo can't run the Get procedure in an xls file although it will run the same when saved as ods. The other issue is that you can't autorun-on-open an xls macro in OOo (see http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=32981 )
The only workaround appears to be to have the AutoOpen.xls as a launchpad for opening other spreadsheets in .ods format and running the macros from there.
I rewrote the AutoOpen.xls sheet in Excel to have 3 buttons. The new code had to be exported from OOo to notepad and pasted into a VBA module for each of the 3 buttons. It is working well at the moment but there are more macros on the drawing board.
So long as the AutoOpen file is not saved in Calc it will continue to work so it is best to ensure the AuotOpen.xls closes after it has opened the selected spreadsheet and started that code.
I taught myself enough VBA to create useful macros after a couple of weeks; trying to find relevant information on OOo macros was an exercise in frustration and took months. It might be that Go-oo (www.go-oo.org )might be a little easier as it apparently has better support for VBA.
Regards
Alistair
