Hi Expters,
Could anybody give me some idea on Shell Scripts and when do we use them in PI? As of my knowledge we can use shell scripts only when we are working with FILE Adapter. Please correct me if I am wrong. And also provide some example if you have any...

Correction to the above reply.
JDBC adapter could also use option "Run Operating System Command" which could in turn use Scripts.

Hi Ramesh,
We can execute the script only on xi system or NFS mounted drives. Please check this blog:

Yes you are right it can be used only with File adapters
