Hi All,

i am new to Forecasting concept but having a issue. please help me.

in MD04 purchase requisition is not showing. i checked the material master & found that the forecast values are blank & in the log

the following error message showing.

>time series characterstics changed.

>forecast values will be nagative

>initialization started

>Ex-post forecast carried out

>safety stock not calculated as service level =0

could you please let me know if this might be the reason for PR being not generated in MD04 & what rectification needs to be done.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

Anubhab

Hi,

Since you have not mentioned which type of material you are using for forecast, it would be somewhat difficult to let you know the forecasting parameters. However, for general purpose, you can note the folllowing parameters for a material to be maintained in the Forecast view of material master:

Forecast model = G

Period Indicator = M

Tracking limit = 4.000 (default)

Initialization = X

Historical periods = 24

Forecast periods = 12

Initialization pds = 6

After this, run transaction MP30, generate Forecast and save. Pl. note you have to have Consumption data stored in the system for the material. This you can check in the view 'Consumption' under Additional data of material master. If consumption data is not available (normally applicable for newly created materials), then the same should be uploaded in the same view.

Once forecast data is saved, you run MRP and then system will create PR.

Check & reply.

Hi PP_HKV,

thanks for your reply.

i found that the forecast values were not created due to less consumption value. so in MD04 there were no PR.

Thanks & regards,
