WIS 10885 Error With Excel Data Source

I am trying to design a report in WebI Rich Client (BOXi ver 3.1) using spreadsheet as datasource.The spreadsheet HAS MACROS in it.It is popping with error message WIS 10885 and WIS 10878.Is there anyway to fix it ?Appreciate your views and opinions.

Here's another option:

I got this error reading a XLS file with no blank rows or columns as suggestted above. I opened the spreadsheet and did a FILE SAVE AS and created a copy of the file with a new name. When I tried to import that file it was successful. Just another option to try when you don't have blank or hidden rows/columns.

I get the same error.

I want to use an Excel source for a financial report . This excel document has financial data for prevoius year and does not need refreshing.

It has approximately 27200 rows and columns from A to M.

Is there any solution to use this datasource

I use WebI Rich Client for Business Objects XI 3.1 (EDGE)

I found the cause of the error.

There was an column empty and hidden.

Once I removed this column I could import all the data without errors.

So look for empyt columns, cause apparently the Rich Client can't handle them.

Hi,

If excel is a data source for a webi report even if you are successful in creating a report you can only refresh athe report where that excel is stored locally. so first try to export that excel to repository and then you try to create a report from uiit.
