the folder on the server ..\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\java\server\platform\var\temp seems to be filling up but not emptying
it has over 23,000 files, about 10 GB, since October 2008 (i.e. just under a year)
they seem to be a daily copy of each universe (52 objects 28 MB)
the readme.txt file in the folder says
This temp directory is used by the JVM for temporary file storage.
The JVM is configured to use this as its java.io.tmpdir in the
geronimo.sh and geronimo.bat scripts. Geronimo is configured to use
this temporary directory rather than its default for security reasons.
The temp directory must exist for Tomcat to work correctly.
should these temp files be automatically deleted?
should we manually delete them?
are the temp files used by any saved files?
thanks
Andrew
I think this temp dir is used by Adaptive servers(Job and Processing).
If it's not cleaned up, you should log an Incident with support, so this can be properly addressed.
Meanwhile, it should be OK to clean it up on weekly or monthly basis, either manualy or thru a script.
