Dear All,

Can anyone explain me the concept of Results Analysis and what the Results analysis key is.

What is the advantage of using this results analysis and why is this used??

Please explain me in detail.

Hi,

You have asked a very big concept in simple words.

I will try my best to explain you

Result analysis is used for:

1. Calculating Work-in-progress (Total cost collected in Cost object - Cost of Goods delivered)

2. For recognising the unrealized gain or loss

This can be done for Internal Orders, Production orders, Service orders, Sales Orders, WBS elements etc.

Result Analyis Key is the one which drives all Result analysis calculations. It decides whether WIP is at actuals or at Targets etc based on the associated settings.

For all the open orders we identify the Result analysis and post it to FI. For these open orders when they are closed in subsequent month also we will run the Result analysis to reverse or recalculate the WIP, unrealized gain or loss.

This is one of the most complex configuration in product costing i would say.

Hi,

Result Analysis will enable u to calculate the WIP in product costing.

Result Analysis key is the link with Production orders/Process Orders/product cost collectors to read all the config settings made to calculate the WIP for all the orders with relavant status.
