Workitem not received at the receiver when forwarded after the dead line

Workitem not received at the receiver when it is forwarded after the dead line is reached.

It showed as sent to the receiver in the workflow log and outbox but it doesnt appear in the (SBWP) inbox of the user.

Tried forwarding to other users too,But it never appeared in any users inbox.

Please suggest.
