Hi All,
We are using BO XI3.1.
I am designing a report based on data from Excel sheet. i'e I am using Excel sheet as a dataprovider.
The report in Deski or webi client works fine. But when I am trying to refresh the report from Infoview BO is throwing an error.
It says "The document contains one or more local data sources that can not be refreshed " (Err msg from Webi)
Deski Err msg: "Setprompts failed - The following dataproviders have not been succesfully refreshed DMA0007"
BO is installed on Solaris 10. And the excel data provider is on my local machine.
Please let me know if any one has some idea?
Thanks,
Naveen
Hi Naveen,
You cannot use excel-sheet as a data source in the infoview.
For using an excel data you need to create a universe on the top of the excel sheet. Also the excel sheet needs to be store at server.
or
You can create a mdb file very similar to e-fashion universe at the server and then build the universe on top of it.

Rohit

Hi Gregor,
I have got the similar issue that I am able to refresh the report on client but not able to refresh the report on infoview. the error message saying that the database logon info for this report is incomplete or incorrect. If I copy the excel to the server, I am able to refresh it from infoview. But why the BOE does not support the network excel datasource?
Thanks,
Vicky
Hi All,
Irrespective of what datasource we use one comman concept holds good in all scenarios. When we refresh a report through webi, it is a must to configure the database in the machine where BOE is installed. In this thread we can see that the BOE is installed in UNIX machine. So if you want to get your excel based webi report working you need to make sure that excel is supported in UNIX platform.
Thanks

Hi Naveen,
When exporting a WebI document to Infoview, no link with personnal data providers like Excel files or text data files is kept. Data from these local data providers is then maintained in the report as static data, refresh from personal data providers is currently only supported with WebI Rich Client, hence the behavior you have (and also reason why you cannot create a document from a PDP in Infoview WebI).
Hope that helps,
David.
