MRP Job not picking 'few materials'

Hello,

I am facing strange issue. We have been running MRP daily job (since July09) for few MRP controllers.

We have found that system is not selecting 'few materials'...

One of the mateial ABC has not been selected since 29th Aug and other XYZ since 2nd of Sept...

But User has converted the Planned order to PR on 2nd and 3rd Sept respectively....

Whereas when I displays the results for MRP run (MD03)for these materials it does shows the PR.

But MRP job does not picks these....

Even I changed the 'processing indicator' 'ON' but it did not work.

Please suggest any possible causes.

Review for the presence of a planning file entry in MD21. If an entry does not exist, create one in MD20. If an entry does exist in MD21, but there is nothing in the NETCH/ NETPL/reset ord/reexpl bom cols, then this means no relevant changes have taken place, and NETCH MRP will ignore the parts. You can optionally reset these flags in MD21.

If you discover that you have one material for which there is nothing in MD21 (no record at all), then you probably have others as well. Run MDAB in Background, which will mass create all the missing entries. Also a good idea to run MDRE in case something has been corrupted.

Yes, the SAP notes are relevant.

I have checked MD21 for ABC material and there is an entry but what I have figure out that there is no difference in the content as it is same for the materils which has MRP run today morning... (except the MRP time stamp and created on)

There is no 'X' against any of the field but empty (even for those mateials which are runing fine).

Should I run MDRE and MDAB, which one should I run first...

I am not sure what you want the system to do.

According to your planning file entry, the last update to the file was Aug 28. This means that there have been no changes to the material/plant that would trigger a net change run.

If you want the system to systematically run MRP for every material, every time, you should be using Regenerative planning.

If you think that some planning file entries are missing, you can run MDAB. Probably a good idea, since you seem to have some doubts. It can't hurt anything.

If you elect to run MDRE, run it after MDAB. Again, probably a good idea, if only to remove your doubts. It too will not hurt anything.

Some companies run both of these programs on a regular basis (perhaps weekly) to keep everything clean.

Hello DB49,

I did run MDAB then MDRE and then MRP run for MRP controller ;Material belongs to...

But No results; MRP run did not pick the ABC material.

Even I have set the 'display list' parameter during MRP run but it did not pick material in question....

Any Idea, When I try to create planning file manually MD20.....

And select any of the 'check box' it says "The material ABC has been marked for the MRP run"

Please suggest...

I reset the indicators in MD21 and it is thru. Thanks all.

Hi JPS ,

Check the procurement type of the material in MRP-2 view of Material Master.

Also do check changes for that material during that particular period.

Hello,

I have checked the material masters and found that material ABC changed on 10 Aug whereas XYZ changed on 04 Sept, but MRP job did not pick these materials. Procurement type is F for all materials.

2ndly there is no GR/GI happened for these materials....

And as mentioned Planned order were converted to PR on 2nd and 3rd Sept but system ignore these during MRP run...

Also check the source list for the validity dates...check whether the validity has finished or what...

Also check info record for validity...
