I usually define the stock keeping unit (base unit) with the smallest unbreakable unit that is used for a goods issue.

I you always issue a complete box and never give away just 1 EA, then you can use boxes.

But if you then would have the situation to issue 2 ea from the box, then SAP would show 0,5 Boxes in stock, does this really make sense: having a half box in the warehouse?

Thanks Jurgan , i do goods issue only in boxes but i have one scenario that if from a box of 4 eaches one unit is damaged and another 3 is OK. Now you have to keep one each in your warehouse and other 3 you sent to customers. How do you map this scenario?

because such scenarios can happen, my base unit would be each for this material.

I can define boxes and pallets as alternative units, the can then be used as order units in purchasing or sales units in SD or a warehouse units in WM.

Hi ,

In Your case EACH will be the base unit,Box wil be the issuing unit (work scheduling view) and Purchasing unit

(purchasing unit) and pallet the Sale unit(sales view)

define conversions in additional data tab in material master.

Please follow the steps to do this in the link
