Hi Experts,

I am hoping that one of you might be able to help me...

BPC-MS 7 sp4 on sql2008... This is a financial consolidation Appset which was copied from SAP_IFRS Appset.

Basically when I try to open u201CManage Dynamic Hierarchyu201D I get error: "ActiveX can't create an object" and followed by: "Dynamic Hierarchy suppport is not available for current application, You might enable it by providing an ownership type cube name in the Org_OwnershipCube application parameter".

I can input data fine into the ownership cube but unable to use Dynamic Hierarchy. I have tried adding and removing Org_OwnershipCube parameter from the consol App but still it doesnu2019t seem to help...

Another thing is that I have also tried using the Dynamic Hierarchy Editor on SAP_IFRS Appset and it also gives the same error.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Teko

Hi guys...

Just an update, I have just tried the Dynamic Hierarchy from a different client machine and it seems to work fine.

Thanks Nilanjan for all your suggestions.

Hi Teko

We have earlier faced similar problem.

On your machine please again check:

IT --> Tools --> Internet options --> Security --> Internet --> Custom Level --> ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins <<==>> ACTIVATE these for all the Active X parameters.

If you are using Local intranet to connect then also do the same for Local Intranet.

This has solved our problem and may be will help you as well.

Hi,

I dont think the problem is with the Dynamic Editor. I have a feeling the problem is with your authorizations on the system on which you are working, because of which the ActiveX cannot be installed. Try to get the admin rights on the system. Your problem should be resolved. Let me know if it works.

Hi Nilanjan,

Thanks for the prompt response...

To answer your question, I am logging in as the primary admin on the Appset with full access. I am also an administrator on the server. Is there anything else that I can try?

Thanks

Hi,

Just to clarify that I have understood your point. You have full administration on the computer on which you are working and you have the authorization to install any software in that computer??

Hi nilanjan,

That is correct, the user I am using is the one I used to install the software... I can input data and run any package with this user including the Legal consolidation package.

thanks

Hi Teko,

Thanks for the information.

In that case, I think Active X has not been enabled in IE.

Kindly follow the below step.

In IE, Tools-> Internet Optios -> Security -> Security level -> Change it to medium or go to custom level -> and enable Active X

Hope this helps.

Hi Nilanjan,

Thanks for the suggestion, my security level was already set to medium-low for trusted sites as this server is added to trusted sites. But I also tried it under Internet pages.

I am still investigating... any other suggestion might help and I think you are leading me on the right track... which I think it might be an environment issue as this happens to all Appset's on this server.

thanks

Hi Teko,

I will research on this issue and will update you as soon as possible. This is definitely an issue with the security at the system level.

In the meanwhile, if you get any information, kindly update me.
