Iam having MTO scenario

I have Finished product A and it is made in plant 1000.

Prodct A has one component B which may be made in plant 1000 or manufactured from plant 2000.

Decision to make in plant 1000 or from plant 2000 will be taken after checking capacity at Plant A.

This decision will be taken by MRP controller after MRP.

How to map this scenario?

Mayuresh,

This seems pretty straightforward, I hope I am not overlooking something in your scenario.

Run MRP in Plant 1000, all materials. Demand for product A will create a planned order for A.

Planned order for A creates Dependent demand for product B in plant 1000.

Unfulfilled dependent requirement for B in 1000 will create a procurement proposal for B. This will be a planned order for B in 1000.

Planned order for B creates capacity requirements. MRP controller reviews, and decides that the planned order for B is unsatisfactory.

MRP controller manually adds a STO for Product B in 1000, with source as plant 2000. Quantity and date to be determined by the controller, but optimally the delivery date and the quantity should be equal to the quantity and finish date of the planned order. Optionally, delete the planned order.

STO creates a requirement for B in plant 2000.

Run MRP in plant 2000. Unfulfilled requirements for B (one of which is the STO) will cause MRP to create a planned order in 2000 for B.

In short, MRP controller reviews the capacity situation in 1000. If overloaded, he merely adds a STO. If you are running MRP with re-create parameter, he doesn't have to do anything else. Else, he also has to delete the previously created planned order for B in 1000.

Hi,

There are 2 possibilities

1. IF the planned orders are to be craeted by MRP, then maintain a quota arrangement for the plants for this materisl.

2.MRP controller has to created manually planned orders in each plant for this material based on the capacity.

thanks and regards
