Maps - Reusable?

Hi folks,

We widely make use of import maps and syndication maps.

While we understand that they are transportable from one repository to another, can we transport them from one version (SP06) to another (SP05) ?

In short, are maps (.map files) version specific?

Regards,

Vinay M.S

Hi Vinay,

I have tried this and it works between the patch levels i.e. I have successfully tested this between the two versions of SP06 but with SP05 and SP06 I am getting Out of Memory error. I am not sure whether the error is due to map or some thing else.

Thanks, Jitesh.

One question - Were data models matching between 2patches ? This error might come up due to data model mismatches as well.

Hi Vinay,

Yes data model is same for both the versions. I have tried this on SRM-MDM Catalog repository running on different versions.

Hi Vinay,

Import Maps are usually version specific. You might test the transport of a map from a lower to a higher release. But a "downgrade" of the map from a higher to a lower release won't work.

Best regards
