Technical Content Process Chain Schedules

Hello,

We are on BW 7, and I was curious how often companies are running their technical content process chains?

Is weekly typical, or should they be running more often?

Thanks,

Nick

We have created a dashboard on our SAP BW Portal to show load, runtime and usage statistics. Therefore, we execute them daily so that we, and our management, can see daily metrics upon which we created KPIs, including upper and lower thresholds. We also use it to forecast these items in order to be proactive in ordering additional resources, when we anticipate organic growth, in order to meet the same SLAs in the future.

Thanks Dennis!

Is there an order in which the TCT chains should be executed in nightly?

Our queries are executed during the day business hours 7 am - 6 pm

Our Data loads are primarily overnight.

The chains we have for TCT are:

0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01 - Content Master Data

0TCT_C2_DELTA_P01 - Data Load Statistics - Delta

0TCT_C0_DELTA_P01 - Query Runtime Statistics - Delta

0TCT_MD_S_FULL_P01 - System Master Data

Thanks,

Nick

We have 0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01 and 0TCT_MD_S_FULL_P01 executing in our Master Data Meta Chain. The Master Data Meta Chain contains the Master Data Attribute, Master Data Text and Master Data Hierarchy loads and is executed nightly as the first part of the process. This entire Meta Chain takes about 2 hours in our environment (we have a total size of 12TB in our production environment to give some scale).

We execute the 0TCT_C0_DELTA_P01 Process Chain with the Master Data because that's typically when there's little query activity (after Americas day is complete and prior to start of typical day in Asia).

0TCT_C2_DELTA_P01 is typically executed last, when all of the rest of the data loads are complete.
