Webdynpro shows a blank screen

Former Member

Hi Experts.

When we run a web dynpro application in portal from our laptops, it works fine.

But in users laptops, it shows a blank screen.

Is there some minimum setting that needs to be done on a notebook to show any web dynpro application?

Thanks in adv.

Hi,

It might be problem with the network at users end. First check whether Port (normally it is 8000) is opened.

And check how the access is being routed from internet explorer. There is possibility that all traffic from IE routed to proxy server, if the users PC do not have access to proxy server then the connection will be aborted.

And also check is there firewall running on the PC which is blocking the network traffic.

Regards,

Ravi

No firewall, and they can access other sites, so port 8000 not being opened is not possible, I presume.

Any setting need to do for WD?

check whether the request is reaching server or not:

http://ipaddress:8000/sap/bc/ping

Can ping.

Any other suggestions? Can it have something to do with users' laptop configuration?

What application are you testing? Is it something you created? A blank screen with no error at all might mean that you forgot to embed your view within your window.

Understand that Thomas. But it is working fine from our laptops.

So I am guessing that there is something to do with configuration.

Do we need any minimum settings to run web dynpro abap?

Not really any minimal settings. Of course we assume you are running a supported browser. The only other thing is that you can address the server. You say that you can ping the server however, so that shouldn't be it. A blank screen just isn't normal. You should get an error with misconfiguration.

I am facing the same problem.

Our Webdynpros are working fine. Sometimes they crash trying to click a button or entering an inputfield with a white screen.

Reload the page works after several tries.

any ideas ?

UPDATE:

It's a cookie Problem.

If I delete the cookies after a crash, WD works fine again.

HI Alisha.,

Try this idea,

You have to configure host settings. The steps are as follows:

1. In your computer navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

2. There will a file named as hosts, open it with notepad

3. The last line will be 127.0.0.1 localhost

Below that add the IP of your application server. For eg 182.23.1.01

4. To get host name, right click on your web dynpro program and create web dynpro application. On right pane of the window you ll find URL of the application. Copy the main part(i.e http://sap-05.dig.com:8001/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zshop_cart)

copy "sap-05.dig.com" alone.

5. Now paste the IP and host in the file hosts

182.23.1.01 sap-05.dig.com

6. Save the file.

7. Now add sap-05.dig.com to the internet exploreru2019s exception list.

Sathish
