SAProuter Configuration

Hello Everyone,

I installed SAProuter on Windows.

Here's the case. I have 3 hosts for testing.

Host 1: 10.206.110.XX ; where SAProuter runs.

Host 2: 10.206.110.YY ; the Server

Host 3: 10.206.110.ZZ ; the client

I'm not using SNC connection. But this SAProuter (on host 1) is going to connect to SolMan and other systems are connected to SOlman. SolMan is running on server 2 and there's also SAProuter installed on this host.

ECC, XI, R3 <---> SolMan (another SAProuter installed on this server)

<-> SAProuter (host 1) <-> SAPSERV7

Do you think my connecttion is correct? Should I use SAProuter in Solman server? Should I use SNC with this type of connection? The only IP address that Im going to register with SAP is on host 1, Correct?

Thank You for the information. Your answer will be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Eco

Hi,

Firstly you have to understand what SAProuter is ?

SAProuter is the small program by SAP which will used to connect SAP servers globally using secure connection.

To know more about it & its configuration please read the below document link.

[https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/saprouter-sncdoc]

Also understand the landscaape for example...

You have 4 SAP servers say, ECC DEV,ECC QA, ECC PRD & SOLMAN in your landscape. Now you want to install the SAProuter in the same landscape, so you have below 2 options for installing SAProuter.

1. Start the SAProuter service on Solution Manager server.

2. Start this service on another new server (It may be desktop pc also).

Hello,

I also need to connect SOlman to SAProuter. If the SAProuter is installed in the SOLMAN server, How can I connect SolMan to The SAProuter? Solman and SAProuter have same IP address. Can you help me with this? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

You dont have to do nay physical connectivity. Only maintain the below entry in your routtab file

KP "p:<ORG_NAME BY SAP>" <SOLMAN_IP> 33<SYS_NO>

KP "p:CN=194.39.131.34, OU=SAProuter, O=SAP, C=DE" <SOLMAN_IP> 33<SYS_NO>

This will allow SOLMAN to connect to SAP Service Market Place.

Hi,

This is the current set up.

ECC, XI, R3 <---> SolMan (another SAProuter installed on this server (host 2))

<-> SAProuter (host 1) <-> SAPSERV7

Can I get rid of the SAProuter in the host 1? Or should I uninstall the SAProuter from host 2 where SOlman stands?

thank you.

Hi,

You can have

ECC, XI, R3 <-> SolMan (another SAProuter installed on this server (host 2))<-> SAPSERV7

In this There is no need to have SAProuter (host 1)

OR

ECC, XI, R3 <-> SolMan <-> SAProuter (host 1) <---> SAPSERV7

In this no need to have SAProuter on host2 i.e SolMan.

In both cases you jus have to maintain SAProuttab file as said earlier.

Hope this will clearify your query.

Thanks,
