Archiving data is not stored even the data already deleted

Hi,

I have go through all the steps in SARA, and the order can be deleted successfully from the system, however it is not stored.

When I click on the "Storage System" in the Tab Management of the Archiving Session, there is some messages:

Storage column: Not Stored (Error)

Status Column: Deletion Complete (No error)

Accessability Column: Archive file is accessible (No error)

Also, when I click GoTo -> Stored Files or GoTo -> Retrieved Files, the system cannot found any match files at all.

Questions:

1. When I try to display the order in CO03, the order cannot be found because it had been deleted during the archiving. If so, where the archived data stored since it is not stored and yet already deleted?

2. Is it because the storage system is not created in Archiving object-specific Customizing? Can anyone tell me how to create this storage system (There is no storage system created in our system at all)?

3. The data already deleted from our database, can it be still manually stored?

4. What is the different with the Archive Directory and Storage System? Although the message indicate that the archive file is accessible, but it does not contain the data (original data in the database), but only some information.

Kindly please help and advise. Thank you.

Hello,

You can't run the store function untill Content repository is defined and assigned to archiving object. Archive server landscape should be present and connected to your SAP system in order to store your archive files through store function. Due to lack of Archive server store function is not completed.

Q1 - Archive data is present in File directory that you have customized in FILE customizing. However by runing the Read program you can still retrieved the archived data.

Q2 - You should have Archive server and storage system in place connected to your SAP system, then you have to configure basic Archivelink customizing and then create content repository & assign to Archiving object. With this you can run store function to store archive files in archive server.

Q3 - Archive data will be present in file directory. Once you have Archive server in place then you can store this data at any time.

Q4 - Archive Directory is a temporary storage place, where archive files will stay once Write job create it untinll Store job is triggred, then this archive file from archive directory will be stored in Archive server.

-Thanks,

Hello,

Complete configuration of ArchiveLink is a big process and based on the business requirement we have do necessary configuration. However your requirement is for Data archiving so please follow below activities:

Activities at Archive Server:

1. Import the Protocol into SAP.

2. Get Archive server ID and its Port no

Activities at SAP Side:

1. Check the protocol imported. (Path - SPRO > Netweawer > Basic settings > ArchiveLink > Basic Front end customizing)

2. Create Content Repository in OAC0 - Document Area - Data Archiving, Storage Type - HTTP Content Server, Version No - Select from the drop option (0045), HTTP Server - Mention the Archive Host ID, Port no - Archive server Port no, HTTP script - archive, Basic path and Archive path should be same as Physical file Path mentioned in FILE customizing.

Activity at Archive server:

In Archive server Create similar content repository as you have created in SAP system.

SAP Activity-

Check the connection now in OAC0 transaction for your content repository.

Assign this content repository to Archiving object and execute store job to store the archived data.

Hope this helps you.

-Thanks,

Ajay

Hi Ajay,

1. Lets say our SAP is run on the AS400. I want to store the archived data into one of the library in this AS400. In this case, the AS400 will be the archive server, is that correct? if so, do I still need to perform any activities on the archive server since the SAP is actually run on this AS400?

2. How do I know which protocol to import and use? Is there any details guide/steps on these setup activities which I can refer to?

3. Also, when I go to OAC0, I can only change or display. The create option is grey off. So I cannot create a new content repository. I'm using the super user ID (which has full authority, and the SCC4 is allowed for all changes).

Kindly please advise. Thank you.
