Reduction of Absence Quota for Inactive period

Dear Consultants,

We give two types of leaves to our employees Privilege & Without Pay. During PL, employee is assumed to be active & PL quota for that duration is to be added. But during LWP, we wish to deduct PL Quota. How can I discribe PL duration as Active & LWP as Inactive ?
