Dear Team ,

I have fresh install SAP ECC 6.0 in HP Unix with Oracle and copy Production data. Now I want to live this server.but before live this serber I want to check every think .

When I am running Online backup it give following error

"sr3.data21": Value too large to be stored in data type

cpio: Size of sr3.data21 > 2GB. Not dumped.

you have 2 choices:

1. decrease size of your datafile to a smaller value tahan 2GB (Ok... forget that).

2. use a 2GB+ complaint program. I would use DD

so, edit initSID.sap file, edit to this parameter:

tape_copy_cmd = dd

I have just change tape_copy_cmd = cpio to dd

Now I am able to take full online backup sucessfully.

You sould really get award from my side.

This problme has been solved.

Now I am facing archive log backup problem , but for this problem , I will raise new messege.
