OKB9 Settings for Revenue Element

I have a requirement to assign the Sales Revenue cost element to a profit centre.

In my case under one company code, I have 3 profit centres. So the sales revenue cost element has to be assigned to these 3 profit centres separately. But I am confused how to assign the this single revenue cost element to all these profit centres. Currently from sales module, the error is happeneing for want of assigning CO object while doing the sales postings. If we assign cost centre also in OKB9, another messge is coming 'cost centre is blocked for revenue postings'. I can make the cost centre open for revenue postings. But cost centre is not normally used for revenue postings, right ? What is the standard practice for solving this issue ?

The following options are available to you

    a. The sales order and therefore any entry posted as a result of it (goods issue, billing, payment receipt), by default picks the profit center from the material master (costing view or sales org view).

    b. The default profit center can be overwritten in the sales order (and therefore in all subsequent entries) by using the sales order substitution rule.SPRO - Controlling - Profit Center Accounting-Profit Center Accounting-Sales Orders-Sales Order Substitutions-Define Substitution Rules and Assign Substitution Rules.

    c. The last option is to use an FI susbtitution rule (OBBH) but this is normally used for direct FI postings and I am not able to think of any scenario in sales processing where you will want to use this.

You cannot use cost center to a revenue element. By right it should pick up the profit center you assigned in the material master. Do not input anything in OKB9. You don't need to default that. Maintain your material master with correct Profit center and try posting again. The revenue element must have category 11.

    Dear Sandra,

Assignment profit center to Revenue element can be done Material master. Indeed, the cost cost center is set not allowed to accept the revenue posting. Normally people use assignment profit center via material master.

Please check assignment Profit center in Material master for the product sold with SD and CO person.

You can find the field profit center in Costing view 1 or in Sales organization view. Use t-code MM02

    Thanks

    Hi,

Through transaction code OKB9 that is Default account assignment for Controlling under that for Revenue elements Plant wise Profit center can be assigned, here you need to select Valuation Area as mandatory and under that you can maintain each Plant wise Profit centers accordingly.
