Regenerate PERNR

We have been using an SSN type number as the pernr in SAP which is now posing a security risk. We would now like to change to an SAP system generated number without losing the data references. What is the best way that this can be done. I know I can use IT0031 or IT0032 to store the previous number, but is there an existing program that can generate the new system pernr and enter the old pernr in the infotype??

    Hi,

In continuation to the answer made by Raju, The new personnel number series can be mapped against the existing SSN type number and can be uploaded. While uploading, the new PERNR can overwrite the existing SSN Type number saving SSN to IT0031/32
