Hi...

Kindly indicate what is the difference between the standard ledger 00 and extended general ledger. I am confused whether they are the names for classic general ledger and new general ledger respectively.

Thanks

Hi

The standard GL is also called as Classic General Ledger which available as of ECC 5. The extended General ledger is normally called as New General Ledger.

The difference some difference between Classic and New GL either is dimensions in reporting or in Customizing and transaction. For Classic FI, the total table is GLT0 while for New GL, the total table is FAGLFLEXT

The benefit of New GL as as follow;

- New GL has extended data structure such segment

- It is possible to have on line document splitting

- Real reconcilliation from CO to FI

- It is possible to have multiple ledger within GL

Please read on line help for New General ledger or take New GL class, course code AC210
