Can anyone explain how the Standard ESS Leave Request Application works, its flow and the FMs used in it.

Since I am new to this, I can get a fair idea of Standard applicationa and customise according to my requirement.

Hi,

Leave request flow:

1. Send request doc from ESS Iview

2. Approve leave request from manager's worklist

3. Send mails by scheduling job for program RPTARQEMAIL

4. Post leave request to absence infotype 2001 by scheduling job for program RPTARQPOST

Implement:

1. Define leave type process: absence type, rule group, with/without workflow, workflow ID

2. Define time types

3. Define workflow with the ID of step 1: can refer to standard workflow 'WS12300111'

4. Import ESS/MSS BP to portal

5. Schedule job for program RPTARQEMAIL to send mail

6. Schedule job for program RPTARQPOST to post approved leave request documents

You can refer to t-codee 'PTARQ' to simulate the process flow in R/3. And find the FMs in the programs.

Some FMs used:

PT_ARQ_REQUEST_UIA

PT_ARQ_ACCOUNTS_GET

PT_ARQ_AVAIL_OVERVIEW

PT_ARQ_CUSTOMIZING_GET

PT_ARQ_EECALE_GET

PT_ARQ_REQLIST_GET

PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK

PT_ARQ_REQUEST_EXECUTE

PT_ARQ_REQUEST_PREPARE

PT_ARQ_SEARCH_NEXT_PROCESSOR

PT_ARQ_TEAMCALE_GET

Hope helps,

After the Employee has raised the request, it will show him the status as sent. And where will the request be stored and how to store the request Technically? Should we make use of a Funtion module? If yes, which is the FM used for that?

Please let me know regarding this.

Hi,

If you are using the standard webdynpro Leave Application iviews, then it will automatically get stored in the back-end as the FMs are configured and the webdynpro uses the standard FMs.

It gets stored in the back-end table PTREQ-ATTABSDATA.

You can go to se11 and check all the PTREQ* tables,

Hi,

Approving Leave Requests Web application provides HR managers or other authorized persons with all the functions they require to check and approve leave requests.

This Web application is part of the Business Package for Employee Self-Service since it uses the same functions as the Employee Self-Service application, Leave Request and cannot be implemented on its own. However, it has been developed for use in Manager Self-Service.

More information you can get from following link its very usefull for U.
