Hi All,
I would like to know that is it possible to perform Availability Check of raw materials in Quotation ?
In quotation our cost is determined in EK02 which reads the production BOM.
Appreciate the usual support

I want the same check of material avilabity that is being performed in production orders. The case here is that we create quotation, a sales order is created with ref to the quotation and then production order with ref to sales order. Before sending the quotation to the customer, i want to be sure that the raw materials used in the BOM is available according to the quotation quantity. The same BOM is used in the sales order and production order.
OR if not quotation, can this raw material availabity check be applied while creation sales order ?

Hi
Availability check is controlled by schedule line category
In standard SAP quotation doesnot undergo availability check
The reason behined this is the basic logic
Quotation is not a confirmed order and hence availabilty check is unnecessary
Moreover Availability check is controlled by two basic factors the checking rule and and checking group
Checking rule is e.g A SD sales order and B SD dlivery and this is picked by the system internally when you execute transactions like VA01 ---checking rule A is picked and like that VL01 ---checking rule B is picked
checking group is the one what we assign in MMR
Eventhough we can make some customized keys for checking rule say for example sar R --- SD quotation how do we assign this R in the system when we make SD quotation in VA21 transaction is a question mark
So according to me Availability check in a quotation is ruled out
But as per customization a raw material can be sold by activating the sales views in its material type ( eventhough logically this doesnot make sense )
OR if not quotation, can this raw material availabity check be applied while creation sales order ?
This i think is possible as you have to activate sales views in that raw material's material type and then create MMR and activate Availability Check in the schedule line category

Why do u want to maintain Availability check for Raw Material. Are you going to sell the same .Have you maintained the Sales Views in the Material Master Record.
You can maintain the Availability by selecting Availability Check & Requirements / Assembly in Schedule line Category.
