BI 7- Select master data in Bex analyser

Dear experts.

As you might know, in BI7 when you open the Bex Analizer and search for an object, you can find infoobjects (I guess those which are infoproviders). This allows you to report on master data objects without any specific query (actually this si also true for other objects: ODS, Cubes).

My issue, is that I can not find the Autorization object which is granting this functionality. Does anyone knows whish is the Authorization object that allows to select Master data objects as a infoprovider in theOpen dialog box of the Bex Analiser 7 ?

Thanks a lot and best regards,

Alfonso.

You can switch it off in RSD1 under the Master data/Text tab.

You should be able to control this via authorization using S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 using the RSINFOCUBE object. Provide authoriztions to only objects wjhich the users should report on

Dear Deepu.

Thanks for the answer, but I donlt want to switch it off.

I was want to undertand which authroization object control when a user can find any master data object(assuming this infoobejct is available for reporting) in the search functionality of the bext analizer Open dialog box. I have one user that can have access to 0MATERIAL and can report on it, and another one that can not even find 0MATERIAL as an infoprovider in the Open query dialog box of Bex analizer.

Any more ideas?

The auth objects mentioned in teh 2nd part of my post will help to achieve this.

Hi Alfonso,

You do not need seperate authorization object to show the info objects as infoprovider in the query designer/Analyzer. If your Info object is maintained as info provider and you have assigned Info area (under which this info provider assigned) to your business explorer authorization (S_RS_COMP) object, you will automatically get the info object in analyzer.

Dear Deepu.

This is exactly what I don't understand. Becuase I am testing a user which have in object S_RS_COMP, acitivties 03 & 16(execute),

for all infocubes, all types of report, all component types and stillm I can not see the infoobjects in the open dialog.

Do you have S_RS_COMP1 also?

Is the RSD1 option truned on for the Info Object?

Did you try with an ID which has SAP_ALL access?

Hi,

With 3(Display) and 16(Execute) user will get the access for all reporting component, if there is no report created on the object 3 and 16 won't show you the object. Assign 01 and 02 also to the user under activity and he can build the report.

Kams

Thanks guys.

I will try all this tomorrow. Now I feel more confidence that all is about R_S_COMP, so I will check. I was unsure ths was the cause.
