There was an error while writing data back to the server: The NT Authentication plugin failed to verify the domain "NA". Please make sure this domain exists and is accessible.

How are you attempting to "add user (windows NT authentication) under Business Objects"?

The group should be there by default. We don't add users in the NT plugin only groups.

Also are you using IIS or tomcat. NT users cannot login to tomcat on XI 3.x or XIr2 for that matter

thanks Tim. i use the IIS version, and normally i will add the user into the Windows (OS) user group first, then come to the Business Objects' admin portal to add the user. any further hint? thanks

In the CMC > Authentication > WindowsNT is there a group listed in there called BusinessObjects NT Users? Is the checkbox at the top of the plugin checked (enabled)? What happens if you click update at the bottom of the screen?

You can try removing the group, hitting update, and then adding
servername\BusinessObjects NT Users and hit update?

thanks Tim. at first, i found the timeout is causing by the asp.net version, when lower to 1.1.4322, no more time out. but i got an error message of secWindowsNT plugin not available. weird. when i did a search on hard disk, it has the secwindowsNT.dll there. thus map the OS user group still not successful. wonder if you can offer more hint? thanks

it's really not that difficult to set up, if you are getting those errors it typically means something is wrong with your installation (files or environment variables). You will probably want to open a case with support to get the assistance of an engineer.

Tim
