You are not authorized to save data for this process in HR RENEWAL 2.0 while creating a position

Hi Experts,

We are implementing HR Renewal 2.0 for a client based in the UK. There is a small problem when we are trying to create a position in the HR Renewal portal.

The only prerequisite in this page is the org unit and the cost center, after filling in the prerequisites, when we are trying to click on SAVE, it says that 'You are not authorized to save data for this process'.

A short note on the background configuration:

We have copied a standard 'create position' from 'ACTIONS' to 'ACTIONS_GB' as 'ACTIONS_GB' has no provision for creating a position. Then we are calling the instance 'ACTIONS_GB' using HRPAO.

Can anybody propose a solution for this problem?

Hi,

Nope, still facing the issue. Have raised it to SAP. Will update the thread once I get a concrete solution from them.

Thanks.

Hi Jainisha,

Please try adding appropriate authorizations under personnel and organization - processes - Authorizations for Processes and Forms - Define Authorization Method for Activities (All Processes) for both PA and PD. In my case, PD was missing. I've not fixed the issue yet, neither I've got a reply from SAP. But this might give you a direction.

So you and Jainisha will stop posting the same thing over and over....

https://answers.sap.com/questions/93221/you-are-not-authorized-to-save-data-for-this-proce-1.html

....you need to check a few things.....

1. do you have correct HCM authorizations?

2. do you have authorization for Case Managment? (this is where there data gets saved to persist the data until it is stored in tables....and may likely be your issue if your process has steps before saving to backend)

3. do you have correct P_ASRCONT authorization (this is the auth for processing a process itself....and you might not have "save" authorization)

You should really have a security person working on this with you.

Hi Christopher,

First of all, your blogs have been a big time savior over the last couple of months. Thanks for that!

Regarding this issue, please correct me if I'm wrong(very much new to this):

1) I've SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW access, that sorts out the authorization problem. Or do I need to get hold of some additional authorisations?

2) I don't have any idea on this. Can you please share some links?

3) I've manually added P_ASRCONT object and given all access to it.

Probably I'm missing out on something...

Thanks for highlighting the probable mistakes!

Hi, you may need to sap error log table to find out the cause for missing authorization.

Thanks.

We are not getting an error log in SU53, and hence the difficulties in finding a solution.

Thanks.

It may be that CASE Mgmt was not set up correctly either.....hence it can not SAVE there.

So after a bit of research and help from SAP, I'm posting the exact solution to this particular error. I'm answering this to help out the ones who are new to HR Renewal.

Please navigate to the mentioned pathway in SPRO: personnel management - personnel and organization - processes - Authorizations for Processes and Forms - Define Authorization Method for Activities (All Processes). Here, check the authorizations for PA and maintain the same entries for PD. If the objects are not reconciled from 000, you might come across some additional errors.

Thanks!
