Approval Template problem

Dear All,

I have an approval stage where 1 approval is required out of two users. And the stage is assigned to a template with condition if the document total less than some value. when the condition meets the aproval procedure triggers and sending the document to users for approval. When one of the users who first rejects the document and post it the user who is a creator of the document is not recieving any message saying that the document generation aproval is rejected.ted. What could be the problem? quick response is apprecitated.

Hi Reddy,

In a normal scenario, 1 approval is needed to approve the document.

However we will always recommed to have at least 2 approvals in case one of the approval is out of office and may not able to access the system.

Let's try to make an simple explaination by using True or False statement, if I have 2 approvals here,

Approve , Approve = TRUE

Approve , Reject = FALSE

Reject, Approve = FALSE

Reject, Reject = TRUE

When the 1st approval approved, the document will remains as Draft-Pending, until the 2nd approval approve/reject, then the originator will receive the alert message.

However if either one of them reject the document, the originator will immediately receive message saying the approval process is rejected.

May I know what version of B1 you are using?

I have tested in my B1 2005A, the creator of the document should receive message "Operation in approval process has been rejected" when one of the the approval first reject the document.

This is system default behavior,procedure for reject the document is both approver should reject the document then only creator will get the message.

As you said the originator will get the message when both the users will reject the document may not be true because i have checked that when in the approval stage two users are added but one approval is needed in the same when the first user rejects the document the same is not notified to the originator but when the remaining user rejects the document from the same stage then the originator is notified. here the behaviour of the system is bit confusing. can you please give more informtion on the system behaviour in case of rejections when

first user rejects the document from the stage consists two users but one approval is needed

and

when second user rejects the document from the same stage one approval is needed

in the above scenario how the system alerts the originator of the document

Are you looking for the system message that issent to the originator of the document. Have you tried checking for the same in the window/messages/alert overview tab in SAP B1.

If a message is sent it should most likely be there.

Hi David thanks for the reply. yes i have checked the same it still not displayed in the alert/sysem message window. the rejected message coming from only one of the approval user not from the other user. this approval stage consists two users but only 1 approval is needed.

Hi,

By default, the system will prompt the doc creator by sending an alert to the user. And the document status will be changed from Draft to Draft [Rejected].

Thanks for the reply. But the system is only giving the message to the originator from only one of the two approvals. if the other approval also rejected then it is not giving the messge. What could be the problem
