Hi guys –
I am not able to really understand the concept of SAP Hana Real Time as what I am reading online is that the SAP BW platform will be removed and replace with Hana. It’s mean that now we will have direct access to production live data?
With thanks - Hardip
Hi Hardip,
I am not sure exactly to what you are referring to. HANA is a database, while BW is an application that can sit on HANA or other databases.
Technically speaking, many SAP Business Intelligence tools can directly connect to HANA without the need for the BW application. If the transactional system is on HANA, this means that reports can be done on live data / realtime.
However it is still possible to have a separate BW application, with it's own ETL and reports built for it.
Hope this clears it for you.
Thanks.
