Will Crystal Report Support .NET CORE? If yes, When will be?

Hi,

We are developing .net core we application and need crystal report view in MVC CORE web pages. Is there any way or SAP will support .net core in near term? if Yes, then when will be?.

Likely never, .NET Core is basically the old Client .NET Framework or the "light" version of the framework.

CR and BOE both require the full versions of the Framework, no plans to change that since we are hardware and software dependent.

What about .NET 5 then? That will release this year, is the continuation of .NET Core and includes all Windows .NET Framework related stuff.

Currently it does not. I suspect it never will because it is based on COM technology that doesn't easily translate to non-Windows operating systems. However, I am not an SAP employee, so I don't know for sure. Maybe don.williams can confirm this.

.NET Core and .NET 5 (which is the continuation of Core) support COM. For .NET 5 they introduce generated APIs from the native Windows COM APIs.

.NET 5 supports OS specific differences. So that’s not an issue.
