I am trying to create a custom function to include in the Functions, and under the Custom Function I want to have the currency format: "cdCurrencyScalerChoice" which I found in the Crystal Report sample: "Order PRocessing Efficiency"

I use CR XI, so this answer is based on that version.

Select a formula and edit.

Now that you are in the formula workshop, you should see "Report custom Functions" near the top of the list.

You should be able to select, and copy the custom function ( be sure to note, if this is Visual Basic, or not )

Go to your new report, same area, and paste in the code for your custom function.

This should be enough to get you started.

I am using XI, but the functions that are listed goes from "Arrays" and next is "Date and Time", no Custom Functions.

Maybe it was not installed?

Perhaps, I have that as a choice in my version. Do you have the sample reports loaded ? , there is one called custom functions,

which also has the custom function once you are in the formula window.

I am unable to post a screen shot of the page.

This is what I needed. I needed to reduce the currency units.
