balance sheet report

One thing I notice in balance sheet trend reports that for example if the 2008.Dec columns is not populated, then 2008.total will not have any value, this means that in balance sheet report, the year total is always get the value from Dec, this make scene from accounting perspective.

Now if we need to create a year comparing BS report, there are currency year2009 and last year 2008 two columns, the first column get value from CV, while the second column's value should always be 2008.total or 2008.DEC, the EVTIM function is not working in this scenario because the time value from CV is dynamic, Anybody have idesa know how to make it work?

Thanks

Hi Peatr,

I am not sure if I understand your correctly. you mean add YTD to teh column and use Evtim to get the prior year YTD? since Evtim us only good for time dimension, I can not get the prior year of YTD. I tried to put both time and YTD on the column. but, still if I choose the 2009. total in current view I will get the data for 2008 column, but not 2009 column, if I choose 2009. Jun in the CV, I will get data for 2009, Jun, but I can not get data for 2008.Dec, which is the same as 2008.total. If you misunderstand you, could you please explain more detail.

Thanks

Try using the EVTIM off the Time member to get the prior period, but add the MEASURES dimension to the COLUMN key range, so that you may define 2008.DEC,YTD and 2009.DEC,YTD. This will give you the B/S values you may require.

Hope this helps.
