Unable to start SIA after client tools update

We have the following component installed in a Windows server 2008

Information Platform services 4.1 SP5

Data Services 4.2 SP5

Information Steward 4.2 SP5.

After trying to install BOBJ client tools 4.2 SP5 we are unable to start the SIA in the server. Even after uninstalling the client tools ,when we try to repair the IPS installation it gives a Assertion failure error.

Is there a way to start the SIA, what could be causing this issue. If we copy the files from a server which has SIA running to the installation directory is there a way to make the SIA running.

There is huge difference in the assembly of BI 4.2 and BI 4.1, By updating to BI 4.2 client tools, you updated the C++ compiler libraries that could have possibly affected your existing BI 4.1 installation.

You can now possibly look at updating IPS as well to latest version and then try starting it. Otherwise, clean-install everything.
