Not changing the Dep key in the Legacy Group Assets

Hi,

I have created one group asset having a some dep key in the master. Now when I am going to change to Dep Key system is asking me again the Dep start date and the exipred useful life. When I give that details again system gives me the error

Spec.dep.start date required in legacy assets data transfer (enter)

Message no. AA909

Diagnosis

You must set the special depreciation start date when taking over old assets data.

System Response

The System requires the special depreciation start date for the depreciation key IN02.

So please provide any way/solution to resolve the above error.

Hi,

Check the asset class of effected asset for it's asset class.

Set your COD with OAPL.

Go to OAYZ and choose your asset class (which found above) and double click on depreciation areas.

There check which screen layout rules is assigned to your each dep area....there must be 1000 or 2000 were assigned.

So go to AO21 and select 1000 and and click on field group rules , there change the field status as optional for FG 04.

Again select 2000 and and click on field group rules , there change the field status as optional for FG 04.

SAVE.

Now try to change the dep key in your asset master.

This might solve your issue.

Hi,

I hope you are using transaction code AS22.

You need to use transaction code AS82 for changing legacy group asset.

Hi,

your depreciation key is customized with the special depreciation

phase and therefore requires you to enter the special depreciation

start date when creating an asset.

This field is probably suppressed in the screen layout for

depreciation areas (tranx AO21). Please make the field available and enter the special depreciation start date.
