Server crashed - how to use the back up

What are the options if any server get crashed and we have that server's backup (Database backup)?

how can I use that backup?

I created a instance with same sysid in another server and restored the database with the database back up of crashed server.

It was restored successfully but dispatcher is not getting started.

is it a right way to use backup, if yes what am I doing wrong.

if now what is other option.

our operating system is Windows server 2003 and database is SQL 2005

Hi Yogesh,

Read these notes.

Note 193816 - Restore with SQL Server

Note 551915 - R/3 won't start after database restore or database copy

You may have to run the script attached with note 551915
