stock transfer from one item code to other

Hi Experts,

Can i transfer stock quantity from one item code to other. the length, thickness, height is same for both the item. We create project wise item so we have two different codes but the item is same.

OR should i issue one item stock with goods issue and receive other item stock with receipt document.

Hello Ranu,

In ECC yes its quite possible the prerequisite is "the base unit of measurement must be same for both of the material, its post through Transfer posting with movement type 309, so please explore under transfer posting in B1, you must find the answer of your query!

Hi

ECC 6.0:

If its Handling unit stock you can do it with VLMOVE (selecting Handling unit with 309 movement) and then in material Tab you can enter new material code , Batch etc and post document.

If its non HU stock simple use transaction MB1B (Transfer Posting)

S4 HANA :

As we are aware with simplification SAP has obsolete MB transactions so you can use MIGO to this purpose
