Hi Amit,

You cannot copy selected KF from one planning area to another. If you want any KF from specific planning area, you have two option -

1 - Copy/Merge planning area

2 - Manually create specific KF you want.

Hi Amit,

The following is the approach to copy the key figure from planning areas and data from planning areas.

1. Copying key figures

Note the following with respect to copying key figures:

  • The associated planning area must have the status Active or Inactive.
  • You can copy key figures only within the same planning area.
  • The planning area must be within the customer space.
  • When you copy a key figure, the new key figure has the same type (for example, when you copy a helper key figure, the new key figure is also a helper key figure).

Simple and advanced planning area copy or merge does not have key figure selection that one you started copy or merge function all other key figures also impacted.

2. Copying key figure data

The copy (COPY) operator is primarily used to copy calculated or stored values from one key figure to a stored key figure in the same version of a planning area (base or other).

I would suggest using the disaggregation operator instead of a copy operator.

The disaggregation (DISAGG) operator can be used to copy key figure values within the same version of a planning area, as well as between two planning areas.

You can configure this operator in a similar way to other batch operators and make it available in the IBP add-in for Microsoft Excel by adding it to a business role. The disaggregation operator works in batch mode only.

Hi Amit,

you can't copy KF or KF calculation from SAP5 PA to SAP3 PA.

If your intension is to copy KF data from SAP5 PA to SAP3 then you can use the Disaggregation (DISAGG) Operator.
