Career path for a project manager in SAP

Former Member

Hi Everyone,

This is Bamidele John APATA from Ibadan Nigeria, with 5 year experience working as a field telecom maintenance engineer Airtel managed service Nigeria. I have been out of job, so I decided to add value to myself to become a more versatile problem solver, passed my PMI PMP recently and am now a certified Project manager which is in line with my experience. Still trying to search for job, but I will love to want to exploit how SAP could help my career as a project manager, what modules will be beneficial to my project management career, and how do I get started. I will love to hear from experience people as I will be needing all the advice I can get. Am also open to mentorship and available to volunteer to work for anyone to help gain experience and more versatile. Thanks for your time. Looking forward to your contributions.

Hi, George:

Instead of asking a question as a comment on a thread that is more than 3 years old, you may want to ask a new question. Here's how you do that: https://community.sap.com/resources/questions-and-answers#How_to_ask_a_question.

Also, you asked whether Bamidele received a response. Please see Tammy's answer below, as that might help you, too. (It seems to have helped Bamidele.)

All the best,

Congratulations on passing the PMP; that is a tough test.

I would start by reviewing the SAP project management methodology SAP Activate

Take the free OpenSAP course https://open.sap.com/courses/s4h4

Good project managers don't have to necessarily know SAP but it helps to understand the methodology - see https://www.sap.com/services/s4hana-deployment.html

Good luck
