hi all ! I want to know if this is even possible. Im trying to do it but Im getting this error at step 2.
Running msiexec failed with return code 1603: Fatal error during installation.
Commandline was msiexec.exe /norestart /L sapmmcX86u.log /i sapmmcX86u.msi /qn
I know this OS is not supported, but all my previous programs seems to work just fine... Any help is appreciated.

I got a official answer and it was that no support for 64 bits is planned, not enough demand it appears...
Something I dont understand since 64 bits is the standard now and even more in the future

yeah sadly I dont have a 32 bits OS around and I want to use my computer at full capabilities... Does anyone knows when a 64 bits version might arrive ? Its amazing to see that they didnt make a proper release...

yeah Im using Windows 7 64 bits version... but a 32 bits program should run on a 64 bits OS.
Is there any fix? or update for this problem?

Several people seem to have the problem with the 64bit but as far as i know there ist no solution yet.
It seems that there are a few parts in the installation package that don't support 64bit. As long as SAP doesn't fix that problem we are stuck with 32bit.

I managed to intall it successfully on Vista.

I didn't say that it will not run on Vista - i installed it successfully on 32bit Vista. But it seems that it will not run on a 64bit Windows System.
So not Vista is the Problem but the 64bit OS.
You can open a DOS box in the directory with the sapmmcX86u.msi and execute the commandline mentioned above:
msiexec.exe /norestart /L sapmmcX86u.log /i sapmmcX86u.msi /qn
You will get a log entry saying that the 64bit OS it not supported.
You can find a sapmmcX64u.msi for the 64bit Windows in the directory 'Additional_Tools\sapmmcx64u'. I tried to copy the 64bit mmc and rename it and it fixed the problem with the error message mentioned above but a few steps later i got the next 64bit error so i stopped trying. Its a bit frustrating that no 64bit Vista is supported because i have a machine with 12 GByte RAM - so i NEED 64bit to use them.

I get exactly the same message when i try to install it on Vista 64bit. So i assume that it is a 64bit problem.
Greetings
