Cannot log in to XS-A tools in CAL SPS12 system

I have an issue connecting to my AWS HANA SPS12 Developer instance. Have followed all steps in the documentation, including updating my hosts file. Apart from the fact that I have to update my hosts file every time I re-start the instance - due to the IP address constantly changing - I cannot log in using the SYSTEM user.

I get the following message: "Authorization Request Error. There was an error. The request for authorization was invalid."

This also occurs when using the CODEJAMMER user, by the way.

Strangely enough, I can log in to the XS-C admin console (security page) using the SYSTEM user, just not the XS-A part.

Using the XS-A command line tools (downloaded and installed locally), I get the following error, which seems to suggest there are roles missing for my SYSTEM user:

Authentication failed. UAA at http://vhcalhdbdb:30032/uaa-security is not up.

I remember having the same issue on our on-premise SPS12 system, due to the security not having been installed properly. However, no info on how to do this (or indeed whether it is necessary) in the CAL documentation. Has anyone else encountered the same issue? Or even managed to start the XS-A tools?

I just created an instance and was able to connect no problem. It did take waiting awhile for all the processes to start but had no problem.
