Requested delivery date of the document

Dear Team,

Can you please clarify the role of requested delivery date on the sales order header. It does not look as though the system takes this date into account on delivery creation. Is there a way to make this relevant so deliveries cannot be created until the requested delivery date arrives?

. I was attempting to see if there was any way to make sure the field is actually used properly - availability check should not allow items to be delivered before the requested delivery date. These orders come in through EDI, so there is no human intervention once they are entered.

Go to VOV8, select your order type and execute. There you can see a field "Propose Delivery Date". This will be trigger point while creating sale order.

The requested delivery date as you say controls delivery in that no order line will be created before this date. However order lines may be created after this date, as they are dependent on scheduling/ATP.

The requested delivery date is available at item level of the sales orders inbound IDoc in the following segment: E1EDP03-IDDAT with qualifyer 002.

The requested delivery date is available at header level of the sales orders inbound IDoc in the following segment: E1EDK03-IDDAT with qualifyer 002.
