Hi,

If ECC data base migrated to HANA data base (S/4 HANA). Is there any impact on BW extractors. If Yes.

Is there any post migration activity needs to perform

I am curious to know what would happen to the existing BW datasource structures believe and any generic datasources ?

Hi,

what would happen to the existing BW datasource

-should work

Is there any post migration activity needs to perform

- in addition to Sanil. It depends on you project. E.g. if you BW staff works smothly then you don't need to adjust somthing, and only use new capabilities of S4 for new reports. If not, then you could adjust it or create new on from the scratch.

Hi Aleksey,

what would happen to the existing BW datasource

-should work

--but i find that the BI_CONT and BI_CONT_EX is not supported in S/4 , i note 153967 and 2289424 . So you mean the data source can still work , but SAP don't support any more?

if we want to create new data source , what is the better way , create CDS view or use traditional method ?

and if user conversion to S/4 , is there any activity that BW should adjust , for example , the material number length is changed , so BW may also change the length of infoobject.

thanks!

Hi Wu.

'but i find that the BI_CONT and BI_CONT_EX is not supported in S/4 , i note 153967 and 2289424'

Yes, indeed, sorry for disinformation.

But some old sources could be used (note 2302508)

Therefore there is need to do investigation before migration.

Thanks Aleksey ,

what about the LO Datasources (2LIS_*) in the S/4 HANA ? Does it still have the extract queue, delta queue and background job to collect data ?

Regards!

Hi

There would be some impact, since the underlying tables will change. You might as part of conversion want your reports to point to the extractor for ACDOCA and this should help you get more data and reduce the load time.

You might also want to use embedded Analytics in S/4HANA for your operational reporting and this should help do away with data loads with real time reporting capability and one of the major beneficiaries would be your Finance team, if you can tangibly show them that the time to close can be reduced.

Regards
