how to create a web intelligence report when transaction data is missing

Hi All,

I have a requirement where my master data is a fixed list, but the transaction could be different (and it is different). Customer wants a report where the columns are consistent whether the company has transaction or not. The transaction data comes form a hana model and I built a master data custom table (it is a requirement). I did the right outer join with the master data table ( Transaction left element and Master Right element) and still not getting the right data.

Also I tried to create the master data as a separate calc view and did an outer join at the universe Data Foundation and still not working right...

Any suggestion?

Thanks,

Arthur.

Thank you for your replies. I have fixed the issue by enhancing one of the dimension in the hana model and got the result as expected.

Another approach would be to keep inner joins in the universe, but create two separate queries in the WebI document - one for master data and one for transaction data, then merge master data dimensions in WebI ( this would be an equivalent of full outer join)
