sample determination and physical sample drawing

Hi guru,

I am actually still quite confuse about the sampling size determination and physical sample-drawing procedure.

For me both of them pretty much similar in which it helps system to compute and to determine the sample size.

What is the different of them in term of business?

thanks

karen

Hi Sujit,

I am getting there... but...

About question 3, I am quite confuse on your last statement on question 3

<<i.e. sample drawing procedure will help for physical sampling(100 physical samples) creation not for char>>

1 - Thus, during RR, the R/3 will prompt for you to key in th result for sample size 10, 20, 30, & 40 on each of the MIC respectively right?

2 - If question 1 is correct, then what is the purpose of this 100 physical sample draw from the sampling drawing procedure?

3 - How to perform RR on this 100 physical sample size?

4 - Where and how is it going to use in the QA process in business?

THanks agin

Hi'

Can you check the same setting in testing server.

What you can do maintain char & sampling procedure .

Also in task list maintain sample drwaing procedure (say sample size 100)

now when you create a lot & go to RR 100 physical samples will be created in background .

Run this cycle you will get answer of all your question.

Hi all,

Does anyone know my question?

thanks

Hi Sujit,

Sorry my previous statement on the first question was mis-typed.

What I meant is:

Question 1 - double confirmation from you...

Physical Sample drawing is used with the creation of Sampling Drawing Procedure. ==> correct?

Sampling Procedure is used with the creation of sample procedure with combination of sampling type and a valuation mode. ===> correct?

With regard to question two, you replied:

When you use sample drawing procdure & sampling procedure at char level then
sample size of the whole lot will be get calculated by sample drawing procdure but
sample size of a char(MIC) will be calculated by sampling procedure agaist it.

My question on this is

Question 2: there is only one Sample Size field in the inspection lot, so how do I know if the value in sample size field is generated by Sample Procedure or Sampling Drawing Procedure if my inspection plan setup contains both the sampling drawing procedure and sample procedure?

Question 3: Can you give me an example of sample size of whole lot and sample size of MIC? I am basically confused because how does the system conduct the result recording, usage decision on this kind of scenario?

THanks

hi

Question 1 - double confirmation from you...

Yes

Question 2: there is only one Sample Size field in the inspection lot, so how do I know if the value in sample size field is generated by Sample Procedure or Sampling Drawing Procedure if my inspection plan setup contains both the sampling drawing procedure and sample procedure?

Always remeber that this sample size at lot level is always the maximum size of all samples.

say there are 4 char having sampling procedures (having sample size)10,20,30& 40 then sample size of the lot will be 40(logically) & rightly so,

Question 3: Can you give me an example of sample size of whole lot and sample size of MIC? I am basically confused because how does the system conduct the result recording, usage decision on this kind of scenario?

don't worry about the UD as UD is independent of RR.

Let;s concentrate on RR.

say sample size in sample drawing procdure is 100 & there are 4 char having sampling procedures 10,20,30& 40 (having sample size) then

while doing RR agaist each char you will find respective sample size like for first char 10,second char 20 ,third char 30 etc.

but as the sample drawing procedure has the maximum sample size (100 nos) then sample size of the lot will be 100 nos.

had it been less than 40 then sample size of the lot would be 40 nos.

sample drawing procedure will help for physical sampling(100 physical samples) creation not for char.

I hope i have made it clear.

Hi Sujit,

Question 1 -

Thanks for your answer, but I am still not very sure.. can you give me an example of their differences?

The Physical Sampling is used with the creation of sampling procedure with combination of sampling type and a valuation mode.

The Sampling Drawing procedure is used with the creation of sample-drawing procedure (QPV1).

Question 2 -

In addition, what if my inspection plan contains of a sample-drawing procedure in the header, and the MIC in this inspection plan contains a sampling procedure with sample schema, what does this means because system allow me to setup like that?

Thanks

Hi

I think you are very confuse.

1.The Physical Sampling is used with the creation of sampling procedure with combination of sampling type and a valuation mode.

Physical sample & sampling procedure are two differnt things.

Physical Sampling do not have valuation mode & type.

physical sample has nothing to do with the sample size of the char.

2.

When you use sample drawing procdure & sampling procedure at char level then

sample size of the whole lot will be get calculated by sample drawing procdure but

sample size of a char(MIC) will be calculated by sampling procedure agaist it.

I hope this is clear now.

Hi

Sampling size determination and physical sample-drawing procedure

Physical sampling : This is used when you are testing some samples and you want to retain the sample for your reference use.

you create a sample in system.& maintain information in the system .

this is one time activity(manual activity)

sample dreawing procedure:sample drawing procedure is mainly used for determaination of sample.it contains different samples like Primery samples, pooled samples & reserved samples.

this is used in the task list for determaiming sample size.

This creates a physical sample in the background automatically.

I hope this will add some value
