chemical consumption varies from 10% to 40%.......

hello masters,

our client is a paper industry with SAP implementation since last 1year.the problem is,that for any particular product in our plant while manufacturing, the chemical consumption varies from 10% to 40% without any prior knowledge and due to some reasons it comes that way, which is unavoidable...so can anyone suggest me how to map it into SAP,how to make the BOM,and other master data according to that so that we can run the MRP for the products and run the full cycle successfully and the product costing can be done which is being done manually now....its a big issue so kindly reply as soon as possible.

Hi

for the materials whose consumption is not fixed during production can be backflushed using mfbf t.code and activating the indicator in the material master.

Suppose we use diesel for generator. we dont know how much we are going to consume in case of power cut. We can only know the real consumption after power was resumed. In this case we will not take any issue of the materials in the first instacean and one the consumption is known the quanities are back flushed.

Hope this is clear

Hi,

There is Active ingrediant processing functionality and Material quantity calcualtion functionlaity in PP-PI which can suit your scenario.

Howver it should be a PP-PI solution

Batch managed Materials.

and you need to be able to link the Chemical consumption variation to a parameter(Like Raw materials quality).

Dear Atal

As i see in paper industry the chemical consumption depends upon the quality of pulp/raw materials.

if quality of raw mat. is good less chemicals are used. u can create multiple BOM having different grades of raw materials to reflect different amount of chemicals to be used, which can solve ur problem.

Thanks

dear Zeeshan,

First of all thank u very much for ur response.and yeah u r right that the quality of the raw materail/pulp matters.but due to some reasons the water is also a factor.and raw material is not a problem, the problem is chemical consumption,u told to create multiple BOM having different grades, can u explain it step by step ...coz i m quite new to PP,
