Getting KI235 error using CJ88 to settle wbs

We have entered a cost center in Maintain Settlement Rule. When we attempt to settle the project in CJ88 using Partial Capitalization, we get error KI235 Account xxxxxx requires an assignment to a CO object. Why will the cost center on the settlement rule not be used?

We had to change the field status group that is set in master data for the account. The old group was not allowing the cost center to be used.

Hi kevin where is this field status group that you talked about? I have encountered the same problem, do you mind further elaborating on your solution?

Also check your settlement profile, cost center should be defined as valid receiver

In Settlement Profile we have Cost Center set to "Settlement Optional".

check the GL account which specified in the error message and double click on the proceed and maintain the default Cost Center and then save and try to do the settlement.

Hi Kevin,

Maintain default cost center in the respective Cost Element (G/L acct) Master Data ( Default account assignment tab) in T-code KA02.
