Partly Activation of data element.

Hi All,

I have changed the domain( standard) of one custome data element during some testing.Then i retrieved back the change i.e changed to original standard domain and when i tried to activate same it shows of actvation error and in "Partly active" status.No other changes made, but still why it is in partly active status when i retrieved bak the change to original domain.

Hi,

Goto SE14 and ADJUST and SAVE the table.

This will activate the table

I have problem with custom structure field refered data element.Can you tell me steps to do via SE14.I didn't find SAVE option enabled and also ADJUST option also.

Hi,

Go to SE14,Give the table name and press enter.

In the bottom of the screen you will find activate and adjust database.

click the activate and adjust database.

Later , go the table, activate the table.

give element name, activate and adjust.

done.

now in same you can give table name. activate and adjust you are facing problem in activating.

Dear Expert,

I have the problem of activating the structure which is in Partially activation state due to retrieving back of changes to couple of Data element field(which is also in Partial activation state).

So when i am providing this DE in object name and pressing enter, it is displaying message" Object xxx cannot be processed by DB Utility".So no active and adjust option displaying in the next screen.Please let me know if there is any alternative way of doing this.

Below is the Documentation details displayed in SAP Sceen near the data element field(not in structure but at DE level) where actiavation status is there.

The object is marked as 'partially active' for the foillowing reasons:

Errors occurred when adjusting dependent objects to a change. Some of the dependent objects could not be adjusted to this object change. To adjust the dependent objects, you must perform the following actions the next time you activate this object:

Activate all dependent objects

Set the ABAP time stamp in the runtime object of all dependent objects

Set the SYNP time stamp in the runtime objet of all dependent objects

HI,

Only database tables can be adjusted via SE14.

You cannot adjust a structure by Se14.

First activate the domain of the data element which you modified and then actiavte the corresponding data element and the the structure.

Hi,

The 'Partial inactive' status denotes that one or many of the dependent objects are not active.

The reason is that these dependent objects were transported later into the target system.

there are 2 remedies for this.

1. Put all dependent objects (activated ) and the devlopement objects in one request and transport again to the target system.

2. Activate the depandent object with 'NEW' status and then activate the primary objects in the target system itself.
