Key Date in Master Data loads

For master data loads from BW Info objects, we are using the package that calls process chain /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER. When executing this package, the system automatically picks the Key Date. In most of the cases this Key Date is a date from the past. We want the Key Date to be Current Date so the latest master data is imported from the back-end. We can manually change the Key Date. But this is not an option when we have automatic packages running on a scheduled basis. In this case, the Key Date is being taken as the Date on which the package/package link was created. In this regards wanted to know:

  1. What is the significance of Key Date in a master data load/ master data hierarchy load?
  2. How do we ensure that this Key Date is always the current Date?

Then set this date to 01-01-2999 and be happy! It will use the latest!

What Key Date you are talking about? Do you have TDH?

Or you are talking about Key Date field in Selection from infoprovider?

Hello Vadim,

I a referring to the Key Date field that is visible in the data manager package that uses process chain

/CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER & /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_HIER. These are the packages used for loading master data & their hierarchies from BW info object.
